Numbers from the Skyline Report show that the inventory of new but unoccupied homes dropped to normal or slightly below normal levels.  Sales of the new homes have led to record high inventories and created some great bargains in the used home market.

According to Mount Data Presentations, home sales volume for NW Arkansas in 2009 was $925,627,711 which is 3% higher than 2008!  35.3% of listed homes sold leaving 64.7% unsold.  The medium sales to list price was 97%.

You have great timing if you are ready to buy a home.  NW Arkansas home prices are the lowest since 2004-2005.   In addition there is an $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyer’s who purchase before April 30, 2010 and a $6,500 tax credit for other’s if you qualify.  Interest rates are some of the lowest in the last 30 years and there are a record number of homes for sale.
